Carrots on steroids

When I moved here to the USA from Europe in the 90's, there was many things to explore and learn. I realized quickly that everything here is bigger. The houses, the roads, the cars and even the people. One thing that really opened my eyes were the veggies in the store. All the fruits and veggies were so much bigger and shinier than in Europe. First I thought it was cool, but soon I didn't like it because they didn't taste real. Actually, they were bland. Tomatoes didn't smell or taste like tomatoes. Carrots weren't sweet. Potatoes never went bad. Weird. Things like this, and health issues, made me wonder what was really going on. I started to research.
What I have found, has made me very picky about what I eat. I try to only buy organic produce now. Added to foods are tons of sugar, hormones, coloring and artificial flavoring. Most of it has been sprayed with pesticides. But one thing really freaks me out and you need to know. Genetically engineering/modification is legal in the USA. Not in Europe. Genetically engineering is when they play with the DNA of a seed to produce a desired quality. To change the DNA there has to be a forced invasion. They often use viruses, bacteria and diseases for this. They also take cells from animals and put into seeds. GE foods don't have to be marked. You are eating tons of this kind of food without knowing it !!!  Think about this next time you eat those huge potatoes from Idaho !!
